La Plataforma Frente Amplio de Sevilla nació al calor de la creación de SUMAR y de la campaña electoral del 23J. En aquella campaña electoral, trabajamos codo a codo personas militantes de los partidos de la coalición (en Andalucía: IU, Podemos, Más País, Iniciativa del Pueblo Andaluz, Equo y Alianza Verde) y personas independientes que nos movilizamos ante la amenaza de la llegada al poder de la derecha y la extrema-derecha y con la ilusión que despertó la unidad de toda la izquierda bajo una misma marca.

Tras esa experiencia, a iniciativa de las personas que integramos aquel Comité Electoral unitario y de los diputados electos, desde septiembre del 2023, unas 500 personas - asistentes a los actos electorales y voluntarias de la campaña – hemos seguido vinculadas a través de esta Plataforma

La Plataforma, que se llamó a su creación Plataforma Ciudadana de Apoyo a SUMAR, se ha conformado a lo largo de casi dos años como un espacio de participación unitario, abierto, respetuoso, democrático, basado en el consenso y en una idea fuerza compartida por todas las personas que la integran: la unidad de la izquierda como única opción para disputar la hegemonía a la derecha en Andalucía y la necesidad de construirla por abajo y no solo como un acuerdo electoral de las cúpulas de los partidos.

El 28 de octubre del 2024, tras más de un año de andadura, a la vista de la evolución de la coalición SUMAR (separación de Podemos, creación de un nuevo partido denominado Movimiento SUMAR que se añade a los ya existentes a la izquierda del PSOE y desaparición simultánea de Mas País) y ante la perspectiva de las elecciones andaluzas, la Plataforma en una asamblea a la que asistieron más de 100 personas, acordó cambiar su denominación por Plataforma Frente Amplio de Sevilla.

Somos una plataforma andaluza que apoya la izquierda, fomentando la participación ciudadana y defendiendo los derechos garantizados por nuestra constitución ante la privatización y el deterioro actual.

Nuestro objetivo es lograr un cambio electoral que restablezca los derechos de los andaluces y promueva un marco social inclusivo, donde todos los agentes puedan participar activamente en la sociedad.
